Alex Simson

Alex Simson surely doesn’t consider himself a chef – but he loves bringing people together and making them happy – and what better way than with food! Recently retired from running the spa and salon he’s owned for nearly 20 years in Kauai, he is now married and creating family here in Sedona. With his newly-found free-time he’s gotten into gardening and cooking – from nightly dinners for family to large buffets for an endless parade of political fundraisers in this year’s election season. His cooking philosophy is simple – have fun, cook where the action is, never follow a recipe, and if all else fails, order pizza!
Kelly Thomas

I feel truly privileged to be a part of this event and to have the honor to represent Golden Bone. I have a lifelong passion for both food and four legged friends. Growing up on a self-sustaining farm in Alaska, the youngest of eight children, I spent long hours in the kitchen with my mother who taught me the expression of love through food. Coming full circle in my life by taking care of the animals that take care of us, I now own and operate, with my family, Lazy Leash Ranch. We are the only Bed, Bark and Breakfast in the Verde Valley for social canines to stay while their owners can’t be with them. We offer a warm, safe alternative to the “normal” kennel environment where a loving family, well trained companions, and positive activities are provided for each guest. We pre-screen our guest to insure compatibility, and we limit the amount of patrons so that each guest has adequate care at all times. We have partnered with Golden Bone to foster and rehabilitate social dogs in need of specialized care until a new foster or permanent home can be found. We also have enjoyed the professional advice of Nadia and Angela for nutrition and the stimulating safe toys Golden bone has to offer. If you are interested in our home, please feel free to call us at 928-254-8086, or visit us on Facebook/LazyLeashRanch where photos of our daily activities are posted. Thank you.
